Dancing has been Mishka's passion for the past 10 years. She is currently a European Junior Ballroom champion from Slovakia, and she has performed and competed all around Europe. She is also a trained contemporary dancer. She joined ELITE Dance Studio in December 2014 and she has taught several classes and private lessons. She also joined ELITE Dance Team as a dancer and choreographer: "It has been a wonderful experience." Marina Fridmanovich
Founder & Choreographer of Elite dance team. Founder of the Elite International Dance Studio located in Mount Pleasant, SC. Marina grew up in her father’s dance studio in the Siberian town of Krasnoyarsk . She moved to Charleston, SC in 2004 at 19 to pursue her dreams. Her passion, discipline and drive for dance have continued throughout her life and became the source of inspiration to open Elite Dance Studio in 2010. Her commitment to helping others doesn't end with teaching, she also gives back to the community by working closely and making donations to non-profit organizations like Pet Helpers, Chase for the Cure, MUSC Charity and the Charleston Animal Society, Charleston Youth Development, and the ARK Alzheimer's Family Support Services. Melody LoDuca
At the age of 11, Melody started dancing jazz, tap, and ballroom, which she continued throughout high school and college. She has won many ribbons and trophies at different competitions in her native Michigan and nationwide. Melody is also an accomplished choreographer. She joined ELITE Dance Team in 2013 when she moved to Charleston and comments that "ELITE Dance Team flawlessly combines my three obsessions: ballroom dance, choreography, and performance! I am incredibly grateful to be a part of it!" “Sometimes I hurt because I dance, other times I dance because I hurt. Either way, dance fixes it all.” Edward "Shi" Johnson
Originally from Myrtle Beach, SC, Shi has studied Michael Jackson vigorously since he was 12 years old, and his passion for dancing, choreographing, and teaching has only grown since then. Shi believes that "the essence of Hip-Hop stems from the freedom of expression found in its cultural roots". He joined ELITE Dance Team in 2013 as a dancer and choreographer. Illustrating that Hip-Hop has no bounds, he incorporates Michael Jackson signature moves, ballroom, tap, modern, Latin, KRUMP, break-dance, and various other styles into his repertoire. Shi brings technicality, versatility, and creativity to the team. Ludivine Renaud
A tomboy and France native "Lud" was enrolled in ballet classes to develop grace and femininity during her childhood. She later learned modern dance, but it was in the water that she felt most comfortable in a synchronized swimming team. Lud moved to the Charleston in 2000 and discovered the local salsa scene. She danced salsa for 10 years and performed with local dance companies. Her repertoire extends from salsa, bachata, afro-latino dance to dancehall reggae and cabaret. In 2012, Lud joined ELITE Dance Team and broadened her repertoire even more by learning Latin ballroom/smooth dancing, flamenco and hip hop. She also choreographed a few dance numbers for the team. "The costumes, the make-up, the thrill of performing! I am totally hooked on this and ELITE Dance Team has become my extended family!" Sarah Sharpe
Sarah was introduced to Ballroom dancing a few years ago to learn how to formally dance at her siblings' weddings. From then on, she fell in love with dancing. She had been social dancing at Elite Dance Studio when Marina recruited her to join ELITE Dance Team. "I really love the team. It's been a great way for me to dance in a professional atmosphere, yet have a great time. I'm not as experienced as some of the other members, but everyone is really encouraging and by joining the team, I have also learned a lot and made some amazing friends." Sarah is also a horse trainer and compete at National level in Dressage. "I make choreography for my horses to 'dance' to, haha, so no wonder I fell in love with Ballroom dancing!" Daniel Torres
Dan is originally from Los Angeles. He got into dancing initially as a hobby but began to take it more seriously and began performing and competing. While living in Miami, he and his wife were members of Liquid Silver productions. They did shows in Miami, Orlando and New York. Dan is also a proud father of two. He and his wife met through dancing and continue to share their passion for dance with family and friends. He joined ELITE Dance Team in 2014, and is now being trained by the Elite Dance Studio staff. |
