Want to Compete?
What does it mean to compete? Besides all the social dancing, we also train competitive dancers. These dancers enjoy the competitive aspect of ballroom dancing. We have amateur couples as well as pro-am students that we coach in preparation for competitions. Amateur & Professional/Amateur (Pro/Am) Partnership An amateur partnership means both partners are amateur dancers or students. Ever thought of competing? What if your partner could be your instructor? A pro-am partnership means that one partner is an amateur dancer and the other one is a professional dance instructor. That is right!!! A student can compete with their teacher. Regularity of Competing On average, there are 2 to 3 competitions taking place every month. These competitions are happening all over the US and abroad. Some of which are Ohio Star Ball (Columbus, OH), Emerald Ball (Los Angeles, CA), Embassy Ball (Irvine, CA), Holiday Dance Classic(Las Vegas, NV), Danse Sport Montreal (Montreal, QC), and United States Dancesport Championships (Orlando, FL). Ability Level to Compete The level of our competitive pro-am students and amateur couples varies from Bronze (Beginner) to Open (Advanced) Championship. If you are interested in competing, your level doesn't matter. In all competitions, there are categories for even the beginning level dancers. Wrap it Up You are most welcome to talk to us about your intentions, and we can give you advice as to which competitions and levels might work well for you.
